Live Chat via KnowItNow24x7

Get answers to your reference questions live through KnowItNow24x7.^* Once logged on, you and a librarian engage in a live "chat" session. Our staff will search commercial databases, Internet resources, print materials in the Law Library and collections of other libraries according to the parameters you specify. Web pages can be delivered directly to your screen during the chat session. We can convert print documents into a digital format and send them as part of the KnowitNow session or email them to you (limited by copyright restrictions). At the conclusion of each KnowItNow session, you will receive a complete transcript, via email, of the session that includes links to all Internet resources shared during that session.

NOTICE:

KnowItNow24x7 is designed to provide quick answers. Legal reference questions, however, often involve several layers of information and issues which may not be possible to resolve completely in a limited amount of time. You will need to decide whether what we are able to provide under these time and framwork constraints is sufficient to answer your question.




^* The Law Library will be online Mon. - Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After 4:30 p.m., Know-it-Now is staffed by members of CLEVNET Libraries, until those libraries close. Employees of LSSI (Library Systems and Services, LLC) staff the service overnight.

Alternatively, you may go to the Cleveland Public Library's free KnowItNow24x7 Reference service. The Cleveland Law Library staff can point you to resources that may be helpful in researching your legal issues, but we cannot give legal advice or interpret the law for you.
