    • ZoomInfo: A search tool that provides information on people and companies.

  • Industry Canada: a department of the Federal government authors this website. Contains company profiles for Canadian companies and importers to Canada. Provides bankruptcy search(fee), industry information and economic indicators. Information on starting, financing and running a business in Canada.

  • Mercantil.com: Information on Mexican and South American companies.

    • Securities & Exchange Commission: EDGAR: Starting in May, 1996, the SEC required all public companies (except foreign companies and companies with less than $10 million in assets and 500 shareholders) to file registration statements,periodic reports, and other forms electronically through EDGAR. Anyone can access and download this information for free. Available information includes financial statements, information on material events and legal proceedings, property, executive compensation and changes in security ownership.

    • Mergent Online: Requires Cleveland Public Library Card or Greater Access Card to enter database. (A Cleveland Public Library Database)

    • Edgar Scan: From U.S. SEC. Contains a complete list of filings available through EDGAR and instructions for searching the EDGAR database.

    • Search-SEC.com: provides a different interface for searching EDGAR.

    • SECInfo.com: provides a different interface for searching EDGAR.

    • SEC EdgarPlus (database identifier=EDGARP) on Lexis provides more sophisticated searching of SEC documents.

DIRECTORY INFORMATION
  • Yahoo! Search: Create a feed for ownership documents (forms 3, 4 and 5) of a company or executive (last name, first name, no comma) and have it sent to My Yahoo, for example. Or have a company's proxy or 10K as a live bookmark in Firefox.

  • Ask.com: supports targeted search for blogs and RSS feeds, news, stocks, images, local info.

  • ThomasNet: Search by company name, brand name or product type to locate a company's street address or other basic company information (assets, activities, year founded, etc.) for more than 170,000 manufacturing companies.

  • Forbes Largest Private Companies: Directory information, business description, officers, revenue, number of employees for the largest U.S. private companies.

  • Yellow.com: Provides addresses, phone numbers, and type of business.

  • Zoominfo.com: A specialty search engine that provides addresses, phone numbers, basic company information (description, sales, key people, number of employees). Links to news articles on the web. Also, links to profiles of the key people in the company.

  • Corporate Counsel: A listing of In-House Law Departments at the Top 500 Companies
